Who We Are

We are a non-profit organization that creates an active communitu working towards biosocial regeneration. Promoting collaboration in a place of reflection and processing, working towards communal and biosocial wellbeing through regenerative projects and activities.

Meet our team

We are a diverse team of over 80 people, organized through La Cuadra AC and working together with the community to face the global climate emergency and rebuild the social fabric in order to become regenerative communities. Our team is composed by over 20 permament collaborators, along with 25 associated projects, over 20 interns from different universities and government projects, volunteers and over 300 people a year with temporary collaborative work in organizing economic, envirnomental and cultural activities and workshops.

Nowadays, Huerto Roma Verde is a flagship of environmental protection, urban permaculture, and community developmment.

We have created an integral community development method, which we have named Regenerative Hikuri , or Biosystemic Paradigm, wich helps us analyze, design and implement biosocial projects and programs.

MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS

Regeration of the location

We have built open, cultivable spaces for community activities, productive and educational workshops and healthcare spaces, by applying adequate technologies for each vital element, such as the soil and water, and their sanitation.

Soil regeneration

We started our Community Recycling project in January of 2019; since then, we have managed to recycle and corecyly channel approximatelty 900 tons of solid waste to the recycling industry, while also composting over 800 thousand liters of organic waste, which have been turned into living soil.

Nowadays, we process over 20 tons a month of over 20 types of waste; we are the most integral collection center of Mexico City.

Cells integrate people, initiatives and projects that, through collaboration and mutual and soliday support, create goods and services that are socially and environmentally useful for internal and external communities.

Emergency support

Huerto Roma Verde has been a support center for emergencies such as the 2017 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic, making it a strategic place for social resilience in the face of natural catastrophes and climate emergenices.

We are a non-profit Civil Organization created in the Downtown Area of Mexico City in 2011, dedicated to studying, designing and promoting socioenvironmental regeneration projects through the creation of programs and actions with an urban impact, strengthening developping communities in the development of their own bio-cultural processes, transitioning into self-managed and regenerative communities within their own environment.
