HELP US WITH YOUR MONTHLY DONATION

Your monthly donations help us compost, recylce and regenerate the soils of Xochimilco. This program is part of our Pact with the Earth. If you would like us to pick up waste from your home address, sign up here.

Our community recycling program is one of the farthest reaching and most impactful projects from our biosocial lab, with several people from all ages helping us correctly recieve, separate and disposing of the materials sent to our collection center.

COMMUNITY RECYCLING

We started our Community Recycling project in January of 2019, with several neighbors withn the Roma and Condesa neighborhoods brinigng in their solid and organic residues to El Huerto. Thanks to these efforts, we have recycled and adequately channeled approximately 900 tons of solid waste to the recylcling industry, and composted approximately 800 thousand liters of organic waste, turning them into living soil.

We are the most integral recycling center in Mexico City, and we continue to grow, making positive changes in our local environment. For this reason, we aim to keep growing in order to duplicate our previous goals in 6 months, regenerating the soils of Xochimilco, where we are already taking the organic waste we collect.

WHAT WE RECYCLE

We recycle over 14 different valuable and non-valuable recyclable materials, guaranteeing a correct handling of all materials and preventing them from reaching landfills or dumping sites.

We are especially focused on alliances that allow us to design an ecological business model, where we can create useful products such as planting pots, compost vats, vertical gardens, and similar articles that help our regeneration efforts.
